Weekly Gratitude: Saturday March 27th, 2021
Bonsoir mes amis! I realize that I’m a day late, and while the perfectionist in me prefers to do something exactly as I’d envisioned it or not at all: late is better than never. Also, it’s the last weekend of March which means I’ll be retiring the image you see above. I love this image so much but I want to challenge my aversion to change and switch out my ‘gratitude post’ image every month. Baby steps. Also, I thought it would be fun to have a new image every month and once the the month was over, on the last gratitude post, reveal some details about it. I might also change ‘weekly gratitude’ to Saturdays but I’ll have to give that decision more thought still.
Monday 03/22: A late night phone call from someone I love and miss.
Tuesday 03/23: The delicious burgers my friend made us for movie night.
Wednesday 03/24: A very good hair day.
Thursday 03/25: Hearing my brothers laugh.
Friday 03/26: Going wedding dress shopping for my cousin’s wedding.
Now, as for the image you’ve been seeing all month? The Arènes d’Arles, a Roman amphitheater in Arles, a town in the South of France. I visited Arles last July partly for this arena, but also because the famous painter, Vincent van Gogh, lived in Arles between 1888 and 1889. Van Gogh was heavily inspired by Arles and many of his most famous works were done during his time there, which made me all the more curious to know what the allure of the town was. Let’s just say that if I couldn’t live in my host city of Reims, I would absolutely live in Arles. I hope I get to one day, even if it’s just every year during the summer.
